Tucson Old Town Movie Studios

Wednesday 30th

After lunch at the Pima air museum we made our way to the Old Tucson Film Studios. The ride to it was super and the studios were certainly worth the visit. it was amazing to see where the likes of Dean Martin, John Wayne, Elizabeth Taylor, Clint Eastwood and many more famous film stars have made their films.
Nigel was made up to visit the set of the High Chaperral and to play sheriff in the prison house!
We met Graeme and Sandra there who had enjoyed a ride on the train around the studios and were checking out the courthouse.
There were a number of really well put on shows around the sets with some hair raising stunts and excellent comedy. Nigel and Graeme seemed to enjoy the CanCan girls a little too much though if you ask me!
In the Saloon Nigel ordered a frozen Margarita but when we discovered it was 80% proof I confiscated it and drank it myself! Needless to say I was a little tiddly by the end of it lol.
Graeme and Sandra had decided to make their way back to the hotel for a dip in the pool and Nigel and I waited for the last show of the day. The escape of Billy the Kid from Lincoln Jail. This included a super shoot out outside the courthouse.
It is the sort of place that you could easily spend all day and not get bored. If you are a Western buff then it would be even better as you would recognise a lot of the scenery.
I had a stroke of one of the horses just to satisfy my need and then we headed back to the hotel and tea at Golden Corral with Graeme and Sandra.
Super day!
