Safe arrival

We got to the airport bang on time and made our way to the check in, suddenly things started to go wrong! The self check in machine said "Computer says Noooo!" so we beat a hasty retreat to talk to a real person. After a bit of a faff about the admin girl said we should try again. This time it worked enough to get us through to the baggage drop off. Here we were informed that we had been wrongly advised about the luggage allowance! Sandra had rang our travel agent twice to confirm it and we had been told two bags each with a max of 30kgs. Now we were told 'no, one bag each and 23kgs max'. Hence we frantically started repacking bags to fit the requirements....we just managed to get things into the bags and fortunately were within the limits.

Bags on board we set off for a much needed cup of coffee and a butty!

From then on everything fell into place and the flight left just before it's departure time of 10:30am. The plane was almost empty and so the carry on with the luggage did rather 'wrankle' but it was nice to be able to spread out amongst the seats so that at one point we had three each :-)

The flight was longer than the other times we have flown here and took 8hrs 55 mins, arrivivng at 7:25pm UK time (3:30pm US) which was rather long on the one meal that we were given at 11:30am UK time!

Getting through customs etc was very straight forward and we got a mini bus to our hotel. Very nice it is too. A quick wash, a chat to Ben on Skype and a look around and we headed out for tea. We had wanted to go to Florida Mall but as we approached a driver stopped us to say it was closed so we headed back out onto the main road to Pollo Tropical. They serve chicken and ribs etc which was really nice and much needed!

We ended the day by sitting around the pool for a chat.
